It's rare that I keep anything I've knitted, but this morning I actually wore an oversized reggae slouch hat I made last year when I was on a bit of Rasta kick. Imagine how excited I was to encounter Ryoko, 22, and her friend Marveena, 21, also wearing red, gold, and green as I came down the mountain! Too funny, here we were outside, and these two had met in Outdoor Education class at Spelman College, where Ryoko is an exchange student from Kanagawa, Japan. Marveena had shared her scarf with Ryoko. Of course I did not pass up the opportunity to pose for our very own United Colors of Benetton ad (too bad you can't also see that I was wearing a camo thermal shirt that matched Marveena's brother's jacket).
